Embracing

 Thoughts had engulfed my mind

in maddening amounts,

which threw me into silence,

and I created an illusion,

which was not a sham –

I'd been down in the dumps,

asking myself,

Why would you choose to be with me

if you could''ve spent those hours

among shining happy faces?
